Running an accurate background check is the only thing that will give you peace of mind when you walk out the door, leaving your child, your household, and all of your worldly possessions in a stranger's hands. It's also the only thing that will accurately assure the identity of your nanny. Christian Nanny began as an online service to help families overcome the pitfalls and high costs of hiring through agencies. One of those pitfalls is skimpy background checks to save money for the agency. This is the one area you do not want to skimp on. Many agencies will tell you they run background checks on all of their (few) available nannies. But what most agencies don't tell you is that they only run one county criminal record and a driver's record report. Nanny services that offer 'prepaid' background checks are only running one county criminal record and a driver's record because it's impossible to predict from applicant to applicant how many counties or statewide records are actually needed. What happens if your nanny lived in more than one county or state previously? We can easily help you save the agency placement or finder's fee, and even find you a better nanny, that is not a problem, we've got hundreds more applicants to choose from than any agency offers. Due to high rates of variables per applicant, background checks must be ordered by phone, call us at 865-436-7800 when you are ready to hire. Background check requirements do vary from applicant to applicant, depending on your nanny's background, previous employment, possible numerous residencies, education and claimed credentials. Families are able to personally review all background reports provided for the nanny they choose to hire. Nannies also receive a copy of any background checks done on their behalf. Due to FCRA restrictions, privacy law, and issues, background checks are not run until the point of hire to ensure accuracy, the most current information and legal compliance.

Identifies an individual by checking over 600 million credit summaries for a matching SSN. Includes address histories for discovery of jurisdictions for the retrieval of other information such as criminal records.

Employee Credit Check
Ownership of large debts with no immediate method of repayment are key indicators of financial irresponsibility that can carry over into the workplace. This report profiles the subject's financial history for the past seven years. Charge-offs, collections accounts, public records, trade lines, bankruptcies, judgments, and monthly payment histories are included in this report. 

Drivers Records
This report is essential on any employee who drives your vehicle or children. Protect yourself by obtaining a driving record for all employees with driving responsibilities. The report contains state driving record information dating back at least three years and possibly up to seven years.

County Criminal Record Search
This is a jurisdictional hand search of the court records in any one of the more than 3,347 Counties in the United States. These records provide the most up-to-date information possible. Cases held at the County level include felonies and misdemeanors as well as criminal traffic offenses. A Metro Area County Criminal Record Search is available in some areas, providing a $1 discount per county for multiple counties that encompass many larger metropolitan areas.

National Criminal Locater Record Search
Search of criminal records database containing information from 41 states using the applicant's identifiers (SSN, name). Consists pf data obtained from various state sources such as; Dept of Corrections, Administrative Office of Courts, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Registered Sex Offenders, Dept of Criminal Justice, Some County Court Records and various other agencies where applicable.

Statewide Criminal Record Search
In some states, counties submit criminal data to a state repository. Data submitted varies by state - some states collect all data from all counties, while other states may only collect arrest or felony data, CA only collects incarceration data, some counties in some states may not report currently. If it is a good match for your needs, a repository search may provide a cost effective way to cover the entire state or most of the state. Not available in all states.

Federal District Search
Federal records may uncover criminal information that was not prosecuted or recorded at the county or state level. The primary actions held at this level involve securities and tax law violations, immigration, weapons, interstate drug crimes and civil rights violations.

Sex Offender Search
State based search for sexual offenders required to register in the state in which they reside.

International Criminal Records Search
Providing searches of available foreign criminal record databases. Most will require an additional signed and notarized release specific to the country of request.

County Civil Records Search
Will show lawsuits, court orders and judgments in the private sector. County civil court records are found in either the upper or lower courts, based on the dollar amount of the action. The dollar amount criteria will vary by state and/or county.

Federal Civil Records Search
Federal Civil actions relate to Federal statutes including EEOC, EPA, Treasury or SEC fraud, Civil Rights, etc. as well as civil causes of action that cross state lines with dollar amounts in excess of $10,000.

Verifications
Nanny must claim diplomas, certifications or licenses, in order to verify education or credentials. Most families like to call previous employment and personal references themselves just to double check information received from an applicant they are considering hiring. Previous employment and personal/professional reference checking with written reports are available for families who do not want to call references themselves.

Education Verification
Direct verification of your applicant's educational information including dates attended, major/minor, year graduated, degree, diploma or certificate received as well as special achievements and awards.

Credential Verification
Direct verification via the state licensing board of specified licenses, certifications or possible reprimands. Some examples of license searches available are: CNA, PCA, Teacher, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Physician's Assistant, Psychologist, and professional Nanny certification.

Employment Verification
Direct verification of claimed previous employment includes verification of dates employed, position held, starting and ending rates of pay, performance, reason for departure, rehire status and any general comments.

Personal or Professional Reference
Our background check specialists will handle the tedious yet necessary task of checking your potential employee's personal and professional references by asking a set of dynamic questions that help you to establish a profile of the applicant's professional qualifications, personality, reputation and character.

Worker's Compensation Claims
Workers' Compensation Claims Records may be used in the hiring process after a conditional job offer has been extended. Records can be used to determine if an applicant has a previous claim or is physically capable of doing the job. Not available in all states.

Medicare and Medicaid excluded parties list OIG
HHS – Office of the Inspector General - Excluded Parties List (OIG) This search will determine if your applicant is excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid, and other Federal health care programs. They are excluded from participation if they have any sanctions in specific categories that include but are not limited to: patient abuse/neglect conviction, felony health care fraud conviction, felony controlled substance conviction, misdemeanor health care fraud conviction, misdemeanor controlled substance conviction, license revocation/suspension/surrender, federal/state health care program exclusion/suspension, quality of care violation, fraud/kickbacks, failure to disclose required information, failure to grant immediate access, failure to take corrective action, default on health education loan or scholarship obligation.

Fraud and Abuse Control Information System FACIS
FACIS® is the acronym for "Fraud and Abuse Control Information System", an information service that allows look ups of the sanction history of both individuals and entities in the healthcare field. Possible types of sanctions include exclusions, termination of license, suspension, revocation, probation and debarments, etc. FACIS reports from approximately 800 state and Federal sources. It is undoubtedly the most comprehensive and affordable way to assure that those hired by healthcare entities are not sanctioned or prohibited from employment in the field. FACIS® Level 3, the search the AbsoluteHire offers, conducts a search of disciplinary actions taken by federal agencies as well as those taken by licensing and certification agencies in all 50 states. This is the most comprehensive search method available. It includes both the OIG and GSA lookups in addition to hundreds of other state and federal licensing authorities.
